The silence that followed the crash was deafening, broken only by the hiss of the radiator. Leo felt a sharp ache in his shoulder; his door was pinned against a tree. He reached for his phone, but it had flown into the footwell, out of reach. Panic started to rise in his throat. Then, a clear, calm voice filled the cabin.

Leo reached out, his finger hovering over the icon. He was a man who liked to be prepared, but he hoped he’d never actually need it. "Thanks, Sarah." Two hours later, "prepared" became an understatement.

"All set, Mr. Henderson," a Blue Shirt named Sarah said, tapping on her tablet as she stood by his window. "The Geek Squad finished the mirror swap. You’re linked up to the emergency response network and the turn-by-turn navigation. Give the blue button a push."

Leo was halfway down a winding backroad when a thick fog rolled in, turning the world into a grey smudge. Suddenly, a deer darted into his headlights. He swerved, his tires skidding on the slick pavement, and the SUV slid sideways into a steep, muddy embankment.
