Episode 10 was a mixed bag. The full-length battles were phenomenal and showcased high-level artistry, but the heavy use of montages sucked the momentum right out of the episode's midsection. Benny Weag delivered the more polished, technically precise vocal. He understood the country cadence and stayed perfectly in his pocket. On the other hand, 15-year-old Brayden Lape was visibly swimming in a jacket too big for him, clearly fighting off nerves. Viewers are unable to invest in their growth
This was less of a traditional battle and more of a brilliantly executed, avant-garde duet. They took a standard synth-pop track and stripped it down into something haunting and theatrical.
